After a day off, the Broncos were back at it for their third day in pads as the first pre-season game grows ever closer. It was another mixed day for the two Broncos Quarterbacks vying for the starting job, but the new left tackle Garrett Bolles continues to impress, as does Guard Connor McGovern.
Paxton Lynch may have just edged day six, his best pass a sublime 30 yard pass to Austin Traylor placed perfectly over Corey Nelson. Siemian did give up a pick six to Brandon Marshall, before completing two nice passes to Jordan Taylor. Paxton Lynch ended with an interception to Aqib Talib, but it was a much improved performance overall from Lynch, as he continually dominates the second string defence. It’s now two practices in a row that Siemian hasn’t thrown a touchdown.
With an overcrowded backfield, Juwan Thompson stuck his hand up today making some nice runs, including two touchdown rushes in the 9-on-7 drills. Jamaal Charles got involved making some nice receptions, but again the key for him is to just to be healthy on opening night. Matt Paradis was back taking his first first-team reps of training camp, whilst Garrett Bolles destroyed Demarcus Walker in team activity, lifting him up before putting him down on his own chest.
After practice, Emmanuel Sanders said “Come on, we always go at it with the No Fly. They’re the No Fly and I’ve got a private jet, I’m trying to fly.”
Von Miller has been looking in the best shape of his career, however will be on a snap count throughout pre-season due to other injuries. He was feeling confident about what he can achieve this season as he said “30 sacks is doable. It’s definitely doable.”

Ultimately we’re going to have to wait until Trevor Siemian and Paxton Lynch play in a live game before we can really assess their credentials, but Lynch has shown vast improvements compared to 2016, as he wasn’t even in the race then. Interesting times…
