It has been confirmed that Broncos legend and current General Manager John Elway has extended his contract through to 2021. Elway is expected to become the highest paid GM in the league, however the official figures are yet to be confirmed as it is a developing story.
Broncos and John Elway have agreed to a new 5-year contract that ties him to Denver through the 2021 season, source tells ESPN.

In a statement released by the Broncos, President/CEO Joe Ellis said “During these last six seasons, John’s clearly established himself as one of the best general managers in all of sports.”
On signing the new contract, Elway said “Pat Bowlen has always put outstanding leadership in place…This is a special place, and the Broncos are home to me.”
At the conclusion of his new contract, Elway will have spent ten years in his role as General Manager since being appointed by Pat Bowlen in 2011. Under Elway the Broncos have won five AFC West titles, two AFC championships and one Super Bowl.
